If you're an employee using Boomr at work you might have some questions. To make things easy, we've put together a list of the most commonly asked questions that our Support team receives from users just like you. Check them out below:
How do I reset my password?
On the mobile app, there is a ‘Forgot Password’ link below the ‘Sign in’ button. Just tap on that and enter your email and a temporary password will be sent to you. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see it.
On the web, there is also a ‘Forgot Password’ link. After clicking on it, you can enter your email address and instructions will be emailed to you. Be sure to check your spam folder.
How do I download the mobile app?
Your invitation email/text message included links to download the app for Android or iOS. You can also visit the Play Store or App Store and search for “Boomr time tracking” to download our app.
Does the mobile app work on Android and iOS?
What is terminal mode?
Boomr terminal mode allows you to set a shared device as a kiosk that will allow multiple employees to clock in from the same device. See this support article for more information about Terminal Mode. Please note that your employer will determine whether or not you’ll have access to Boomr’s terminal mode.
Do I have to use an email address to sign up?
Email is the primary identifier for users in the Boomr database. Each user must have a unique email address. Email addresses can be created for free from Gmail, Yahoo, and others.
How do I check in for work?
From there, there are two primary ways to check in for work. You can track your time in real-time and you can enter your time manually.
It says I’m too far away from my location to check in. What does that mean?
Your employer has activated our geo-fence feature. This means you need to be within a specified radius of your work location before you’ll be able to check in for work. If you feel you’re already at the correct location, you can try to force an update of your location by opening your favorite maps app (Google Maps or Apple Maps). This will provide your device with the most recent update of your location. You can then return to the Boomr app and try again to check in.
It's worth noting that the Boomr mobile app does NOT track your location when you are not actively tracking time. Read more about Boomr location tracking.
Why can’t I track time on your website?
Your employer has disabled time tracking from our web dashboard. If you believe this is an error or would like more information, please check with your employer!
How do I edit my shift?
If you have permission, you can edit a pending shift on either the web or the Boomr mobile app. To edit on the web, click on ‘Timesheets’ tab at the top of the screen. Click on the row for the shift you’d like to edit and edit any of the fields in the pop-up window. Make sure to hit ‘Save’ after editing.
To edit from the mobile app, tap on the shift you’d like to edit and then tap on the ‘Edit Shift’ button at the bottom of the screen. Make any necessary edits and then hit ‘Save’ in the top, right corner.
How do I delete a shift?
If you have permission, you can delete a shift from the Boomr mobile app. Tap on the shift you’d like to delete and then tap on the ‘Edit Shift’ button at the bottom of the screen (if you don’t see an edit button, you either don’t have permission or the shift has already been approved and is no longer eligible to edit). Scroll to the bottom and tap on the ‘Delete Shift’ button.
It is not currently possible for employees delete a shift from the Boomr website.
How do I check in with Job Codes?
If your employer has enabled and set up job codes for your profile, you’ll see the option to choose a job code when checking in. This is true on the mobile app or on our website. If you do not see the option to select a job code, this feature is not enabled for your profile. Please check with your manager or admin.
Who should I talk to if my pay isn’t correct?
Great question! Our team at Boomr doesn’t actually process payroll. Your hours tracked in Boomr are exported from our system and processed by a 3rd party of your employer’s choice. If you have any questions regarding pay, pay stubs, or W2s, etc, please contact your employer or payroll vendor.
Can I enter my time after I’m done with work?
If your employer has granted permission for what we call, manual entry, then yes you can! If you use the mobile app to track your time, just tap on the ‘+’ sign to add time manually.
If you use the website to track your time, click on the ‘Timesheets’ tab and then on the ‘Add Time for Completed Shift’ button.
